Default Wanna start a guild for economic power?

Can't believe how many people responded to the "GW Stock Market Crash" thread I posted. I'm a stats player. I crunch numbers in my head and I run economic scenarios over and over again. I didn't know there's that many economically minded people out there on GW. For us rich GW market traders, you wanna all form a new guild who's mission is to achieve economic supremacy over GW? A new united trade union where everyone has to have over 1million G's to join. And our activities are to dominate the market and become that powerful Cartel with the economic resources and power to drive the prices of the market any way we want. And then the Devs will realize our economic strangle hold on the game and force us to disband our guild. But we will go underground and maintain contacts. Becoming a secret GW organization amassing extreme amount of economic power and secretly directing the way people plays GW through economic infiltration, coercion and subjugation. We could call ourselves "The Hidden Coin" or some other dark and subversive names.

I love those secret society stuff.

I would, but do you really want to lower the standards to allow in the single millionaires? I think there should be higher standards than that.

Oh oh oh! And when we achieved absolute domination in GW, we will then secretly using the influence to assert our will into WoW. And when we achieved absolute domination in WoW, then our ranks will be bolstered with even more like minded devious capitalists. We will send them to secretly infiltrate all other online RPGs until we dominate ALL the online RPGs in the world! And then! Only then! We will use the power from all those online RPGs and slowly find ways to infiltrate real world trade organizations starting with eBay! Eventually! We will control the OPEC, the G8 summit, the European Union and the secret organization that started as a simple trade union guild in GW will grow to dominate the whole human race! PHAAahhAHHAAAHAAAAAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

Too Republican-sounding for my taste - also a waste of time, I'd rather play the game than the market.

Anyone want to form a socialist society of guilds?

During the last beta I had joked around with some friends about making "THe Trade Federation" guild, and basically just be big-time traders. It was a joke, but nowadays I kinda wish we had done it.

I still don't understand how people think that gold is worth anything at all until it's actually exchanged for goods. People brag to me about how much gold they have all the time, I'm like... "Well done? What will you spend it on?" their reply is always the same; "I don't really have anything to spend it on, I just like to have it."

Well, if I was a big-time trader; being in a guild that specializes in trading would have a serious advantage over other traders. For example, some of the guild members could specialize in goods specifically for warriors, necromancers, etc. With a bit of software support, you could even list your goods on-line and provide "guild-wide" shopping. If someone makes a sale (refers someone else), you can work out a 10% commission, etc. Normally, if you don't have something that someone is wanting, you lose the sale. However, if you're in a trading guild, and you know that someone else in the guild _has_ that item; you can "make" the deal and then collect a commission on your sale. For example, on the guild-chat you could go:

Hey, I've got a sucker here that wants a Vampric Hammer and is willing to pay 250K for it. Quick, anyone got one?

I could probably aid in grabbing the economy by the neck, seeing as how I'm a raw material pack-rat, but wheres the fun in that?

I love the idea. I would join if I could get a title like "Illuminatus Number 14." Unfortunately, I'm not very good at economic domination. Any chance of having a junior varsity or something?

Aren't you the guy who robbed the rare material traders over and over before the latest update? What do you suggest we rob for this update?
